We rarely think about the importance of our vision - that is until we face the possibility of losing it. With regular eye exams by an Ophthalmologist we may discover and thus correct or treat many problems that could rob you of your vision. In adults in the abscence of any visual or eye problems we suggest a full eye exam every 3-5 years. Adults over the age of 40 should have an eye exam every 2 years and those with diabetes , or a family history of glaucoma once a year.

High-Tech Eye Care
Dr. Walker uses computerized, state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment—including computerized lens analyzers—to determine the power of your present glasses, computerized refractors to help determine what your present glasses should be, and a computerized visual field analyzer to detect any defects in your field of vision.
Ultrasound and Corneal measurements are used to determine the length and shape of the eye to prescribe the correct lens implant for cataract operations. Retinal photography is performed to visualize and document any abnormalities inside the eye. So that you have a better understanding of your eye condition, we provide patient education as well. Dr. Brent E. Walker was born and raised in the Erie area. He graduated Valedictorian from General McLane High School in 1975 and Magna Cum Laude fom Gannon University in 1981.
Dr. Walker received his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical School in Philadelphia also in 1981 as a member of the first Gannon / Hahnemann class. He did his internship in Family Practice at Hamot Medical Center, and his Ophthalmology Residency training at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, and St. Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh. Dr Walker has been a Board Certified Ophthalmologist since 1987. Dr. Walker has been in private practice in Erie since 1986 specializing in Cataract Surgery. Glaucoma Management , Diabetic Retinal exams and Comprehensive Eye Exams.
